One of the things I love about Rochon’s books is how well-developed the characters are and how strong the female friendships are. Overall this book was a satisfying conclusion to the series. Individually, I thought there were really interesting characters, with both of them being extremely passionate in their careers and other aspects of their lives, including family. I was thoroughly satisfied with London’s growth by the end.

Charlotte and Emilie’s relationship healing was a given since Antoine connects them and if they didn’t reconcile he’d force the issue. Elsa, on the other hand, I guess with her wanting to move on from her old life, she wanted to include moving on from what was the last straw/ trigger as well? That is the only way I can even attempt to fathom what is going on. Every show runner or head writer has their signature style. For Aaron Sorkin, its rapid-fire dialogue often said on the move. For Triple H, it’s an opening promo segment that segues into the episode’s first match.

For the first time since he lost her, he’s able to look forward to the future. But as wonderful as his future may be, there will always be a part that’s missing. No matter who comes into his life, no one will ever replace her. As they talk, she points out that he doesn’t hear well on his right side. He laughs, then denies that he’s laughing, and then they get the giggles and it is perhaps the first moment of true levity either of them have had in a really long time.
